Art Display and Poster Contest
PRINTABLE VERSION -
The 2016 Fair is quickly approaching and 2016 needs to be the year that your school shows off the talent of your students! The Montgomery County Fair has sponsored an elementary art poster contest for the last several years. It is our hope to showcase the creativity of the elementary students in Montgomery County by filling the upper level of the Roundhouse with an elementary art exhibit.
We were able to cover nearly 15% of the available space with the posters of 149 students representing 6 elementary schools from 5 school districts the first year. In 2014, we had more than 733 posters from 4 schools in 4 districts and covered over 75% of the wall space in the Roundhouse. What a great success!
We would like to see more schools get involved! We need to fill the entire Roundhouse walls to overflowing! Why should only 4 schools have all the FUN? Your school needs to be recognized for your student’s imagination and creativity!
- Art projects are displayed all 6 days of the Fair
- Winners selected in each of three categories.
- Winning posters are assembled into a calendar
- Winners receive a calendar, ribbons, and free admission to the fair.
- Calendars were offered for sale at the Fair displaying the winning art projects.
- All participants receive a ribbon in recognition of their effort.
The Montgomery County Fair is holding the poster contest again for 2016! The contest rules and a participation form are also enclosed for you convenience. The final grading period of the school year is a busy time. Please consider adding this project to your plans. It would be a great project for a Substitute Teacher day, for students who have completed other curriculum, or for a change of pace.
Thank you for your efforts in the classroom and your dedication to kids of the future. We look forward to seeing the imagination that you have at your school and to having you and your school and to having you and your students represented at the 2016 Montgomery County Fair.
